Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 21, 2026
neoschool ("we," "us," "our") respects the privacy of every family and student in our community. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have — with particular care for the personal information of children.
1. Who this policy covers
This policy applies to families who visit our websites (including neoschool.me), submit an application or interest form, enroll a child, or use the neoschool digital learning platform. It covers information about parents and guardians as well as enrolled students.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Parent / guardian details: name, email, phone number.
- Child details: first and last name, preferred name, date of birth, gender, current grade, current school, and information you choose to share about learning needs (such as whether a child has an IEP/504 plan and helpful accommodations).
- Application context: desired enrollment date and type, who referred you, and what drew you to neoschool.
- Interest signups: if you join our "stay in the loop" list, your name, email, and optionally your child's first name and age.
Information collected automatically
- Basic device and usage data (such as browser type and pages visited) to keep our site working and secure.
- We aim to minimize tracking and do not use behavioral advertising cookies that target children.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect only for legitimate educational and operational purposes, including to:
- Review applications and assess fit for our program;
- Communicate with you about admissions, enrollment, scheduling, and campus updates;
- Provide and personalize the learning experience, including the AI tutor;
- Keep students safe and comply with health, safety, and legal requirements;
- Improve our program and platform.
We do not sell personal information — yours or your child's — and we do not use student data for third-party advertising.
4. Children's privacy & COPPA
COPPA
The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) protects the personal information of children under 13. We take this seriously and design our practices around it:
- Parental consent. Information about a child is provided by a parent or guardian, or collected only after we have obtained verifiable parental consent. A parent enrolling a child consents to the data practices needed to deliver the program.
- Data minimization. We collect only the child information we genuinely need to run admissions and deliver education.
- No behavioral advertising. We never use a child's information to serve targeted ads, and we do not allow our vendors to do so.
- No public sharing. Children are not required to disclose more information than is reasonably necessary, and we do not make a child's personal information publicly available.
- Parental rights. Parents can review the personal information we hold about their child, ask us to correct or delete it, and refuse further collection or use. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
5. Student education records & FERPA
As a school, the education records we maintain about enrolled students are handled consistent with the principles of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Parents may inspect and request corrections to their child's education records. We disclose education records only to staff with a legitimate educational interest, to service providers acting on our behalf under confidentiality obligations, or as required by law.
6. AI tutor & learning platform
Our platform includes an AI tutor that helps students learn. When a student interacts with the tutor:
- Conversations are used to support that student's learning and to help teachers understand progress;
- We instruct our AI providers not to use student conversations to train their general models, where such controls are available;
- We do not use tutor interactions for advertising;
- If a family provides their own AI provider key ("bring your own key"), that key is stored only in the family's own browser and is not transmitted to or stored on neoschool servers.
7. When we share information
We share personal information only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers who help us operate (for example, email delivery, hosting, and database providers) under contracts that require them to protect the information and use it only for our purposes;
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or to protect the safety of a child or others;
- With your direction, such as when you ask us to share information with a specific person.
We do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
8. How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and limiting staff access to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your family's information and to address any issues promptly.
9. Data retention & deletion
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here or as required by law. Application information for families who do not enroll is retained for a limited period and then deleted or anonymized. You may request deletion of your or your child's information at any time, subject to legal recordkeeping obligations.
10. Your rights & choices
- Access: request a copy of the information we hold about you or your child;
- Correction: ask us to fix inaccurate information;
- Deletion: ask us to delete information, subject to legal limits;
- Opt out: unsubscribe from our updates at any time using the link in our emails or by contacting us.
